Take the Ferry to San Francisco, Saulsalito, or Vallejo for an afternoon of exploring. The dock is located in Jack London Square and provides a great view of the Port Of Oakland. Check their schedule here and don’t forget a jacket, its windy and chilly year round. Your Clipper Card works on the Ferry as well as on BART and ACTRANSIT.

Within walking distance of the Oakland Marriott, this newly renovated local watering hole is opened and operated by the same owners of Chop Bar, Calavera, and Lungomare. All delicious and different places to eat. Plus you get a tour of the town just checking out all of their spots. Tribune Tavern has a great bar and lots of filling options for your pre race meal.

The Forge opened in January of 2013 in Oakland, California to rave reviews, and we’ve been growing ever since! With three thriving locations and a fourth in the works, The Forge features wood-fired cooking specializing in Neapolitan-style pizza and American classics. We always use the best quality local, organic, and seasonal ingredients, including high-quality 00 organic flour from Central Milling and our own naturally made and maintained leaven. This leaven, used instead of commercial dry yeast, can take on the living flavor of the environment in each of our restaurants.

What else is our secret? Nearly 80% of our menu items are prepared using the imported Italian Valoriani oven, which allows us to create a pizza like no other! From our famous slightly charred crust exploding with texture and flavor to our hard variety of cheeses that can stand up to the heat of our 850 degree-oven, The Forge boasts its own unique twist on classic Neapolitan-style pizza.

XOLO La Taqueria

We primarily serve tacos and burritos with carefully selected combinations of meats, beans, vegetables, and sauces. There are also a few other fun items like our bacon wrapped hot dog (our Danger Dog), mini crispy churros, vegan pozole, and Mexican hot chocolate. We make everything from scratch and we use local and organic ingredients as much as possible. Xolo is a great late night spot to grab some tacos and a beer or to enjoy a late lunch when everything is closed between lunch and dinner.
