Corrigan Sports and A’s Community Fund Partner For Play Ball 5k

Inaugural Race to Take Place April 11th at O.co Coliseum

FEB. 10, 2015 (Oakland, CA) – Corrigan Sports, in partnership with the Oakland A’s Community Fund, introduces the Play Ball 5K on Saturday, April 11 at 9 am at the O.co Coliseum. Celebrating the start of another great season of A’s baseball, the Play Ball 5K will start on the field, follow a portion of the Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline, and finish in the O.co Coliseum parking lot.

“We’re excited to add another event on the west coast,” stated Corrigan Sports president Lee Corrigan. “We are giving the fans of Oakland’s professional teams the unique opportunity to experience their favorite team like never before.” All entrants will receive a ticket to that day’s 1:05pm matinee between the A’s and the Seattle Mariners. A portion of proceeds will benefit the A’s Community Fund, which raises hundreds of thousands of dollars annually in support of dozens of Bay Area charitable organizations.

In addition, runners will also receive:

● A technical t-shirt
● One Field level ticket to A’s game on Sat., April 11 (date not transferable)
● Opportunity to purchase additional tickets to A’s game on Sat., April 11 (will be next to your free ticket)
● Complimentary parking on day of race ($20 value. No exit and re-entry available)
● Admission to post-race celebration

“Preseason” registration is now open at $45 and will continue through Feb. 15. Then until April 4th, prices increase by $5 to $50. Finally “Extra Inning” Registration will be priced at $60 up until race day. Athena is the official water sponsor of the race and will provide water along the course and at the finish line.

Other events produced by Corrigan Sports include the Oakland Marathon & Running Festival and the Raiders Back to Football run in September.
