GU Extends its Sponsorship of Oakland Running Festival
Seventh Annual Event to Take Place March 20th
Oakland, CA (Feb. 16, 2016) – Corrigan Sports Enterprises announced today GU Energy Labs has renewed and extended its contract with the Oakland Running Festival to serve as the event’s official energy gel and chew through 2018.
GU Energy Gels are the original energy gel for training and racing and deliver energy-dense calories and essential nutrients in a portable packet to sustain athletes during endurance activities. GU Energy Chews deliver similar benefits but in a chewable form to give athletes more variety.

According to a 2015 study by RESI, an economic research and consulting firm located at Towson University, the 2015 Oakland Running Festival’s annual economic impact surpassed $12 million. Approximately $1.7 million has been raised for local charities since the event’s inception.
The 7th Annual Oakland Running Festival will take place on March 20, 2016. The well-acclaimed event features a full marathon, half-marathon, Hawaiian Airlines Four-Person Relay, Bank of the West 5k, Run the Town Challenge and Kids Fun Run. More than 10,000 runners are expected this year. Registration is pacing 15% ahead of where it was last year.
