Hawaiian Airlines Renews Sponsorship with Oakland Running Festival
Seventh Annual Event to Take Place March 20th
Oakland, CA (MARCH 22, 2016) – Corrigan Sports Enterprises announced today that Hawaiian Airlines will serve as the title sponsor of the Four-Person Team Relay at the Oakland Running Festival for the fifth consecutive year. The seventh annual Oakland Running Festival will take place on March 20th and features four other races: full marathon, half-marathon, 5K and kids’ fun run.
As part of the agreement, Hawaiian Airlines will offer round-trip airfare to Hawaii for each member of the winning relay teams (male, female & coed) along with a pair of round-trip tickets for both the male and female marathon winners.
Leimomi Hall, Director Sales, North America, Hawaiian Airlines said, “This has been a great partnership for us, underlining our commitment to bringing the unique spirit of Hawai‘i to Oakland and the whole Bay Area. We’re happy to provide a little extra motivation to the teams.”
“Hawaiian Airlines’ support has created amazing excitement for our team relay,” stated CSE president Lee Corrigan. “The unique team concept for the relay allows runners to enjoy camaraderie with the potential of continuing the celebration in a warm, tropical place. We’re expecting a lot of personal bests when it comes to race day!”
Hawaiian Airlines is a favorite carrier of East Bay travelers flying to Hawaii, providing daily nonstop flights from Oakland to both Honolulu and Maui. Earlier this year, Hawaiian Airlines began offering daily service between Oakland and Honolulu, increasing its flights from four times a week.
Like all of Hawaiian’s customers, the Festival’s trip winners will enjoy the authenticity of Hawaiian’s distinctive “Hawaii Flies With Us” inflight hospitality showcasing the people, culture and natural beauty of the Hawaiian Islands. Hawaiian is the only carrier serving Hawaii offering complimentary meals in Main Cabin, and also the only carrier providing the comfort and roominess of widebody, twin-aisle aircraft for all of its flights.
According to a 2015 study by RESI, an economic research and consulting firm located at Towson University, the 2015 Oakland Running Festival’s annual economic impact surpassed $12 million. Approximately $1.7 million has been raised for local charities since the event’s inception.
