Oakland, CA (December 11, 2017) — Corrigan Sports Enterprises released a new logo for the annual Oakland Marathon in advance of the event’s 9th annual running on March 25, 2018.
The new logo utilizes the Tribune Tower to reflect the event’s iconic and inclusive status in the community. The Tribune Tower has served as an anchor of the Oakland skyline since the 1920’s.
Lee Corrigan, president of CSE, said, “The Tribune Tower serves as a beacon for visitors just like the marathon attracts runners to The Town from all over the world.”
Race officials anticipate a field size of 10,000 runners in 2018 from more than 30 states and about 10 foreign countries. The event generates an estimated $12 million in economic impact annually and has raised more than $2 million for local charities since its inception in 2010.
The Oakland Running Festival offers distances to runners of all ages and abilities. The festival consists of a marathon, half marathon, four-person team relay, Bank of the West 5K and Kids Fun Run.
