In the spirit on the NBA Finals pitting the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers, the organizers of both the Oakland Running Festival and the Cleveland Marathon have placed a friendly wager on the series. The bigger winners in all of this are runners from both cities.
If the Cavs win, the Oakland Marathon will provide (for Cleveland Marathon participants):
- 1 VIP package, including stay at the Marriott, $50 food coupon, Entry, VIP Pass, Training Shirt and Packet waiting in their room. (Winner is responsible for travel)
If the Warriors win, the Cleveland Marathon will provide (for Oakland Marathon participants):
- 1 VIP package, including stay at the Hyatt, Entry, Pasta Dinner tickets(2), VIP Brunch tickets (2), Training shirt waiting in their room. (Winner is responsible for travel)
Regardless of the outcome of the NBA Finals, both races will provide each others participants:
- 10 entries and training shirts
