The Oakland Running Festival is proud to announce two local running groups as the Official Training Groups for April’s event. Lake Merritt Joggers and Striders will train runners for the marathon and half marathon. The WOW team will organize women-only training runs for the half and 5k as well as a walking program. Information about the training groups is listed below.

In the East Bay, training will take place on Saturday at various locations in Alameda and Contra Costa County each week. Runners of all abilities will be trained by Lake Merritt Joggers and Striders. For more information on that training program click here.  Like last year, there will be supported runs on the marathon and half marathon courses. The first will be on January 21, 2017. Check back later for times and locations.

In addition, the WOW team will organize women-only training runs for the half and 5k as well as a walking program. For more information on that training program click here.

Go WOW Team– Fit Women of the World (the WOW Team) was founded by Coach Stephanie Atwood to bring fitness and friendship to women through running, walking, and racing. The WOW Team offers THE OFFICIAL and ONLY 5K  Training Program along with the only Women’s HALF MARATHON  and  a FULL MARATHON WALKING Training Program officially recognized by the Oakland Running Festival.  With training in the East Bay and SF/Peninsula Areas, the WOW Team is a great way to go!
