The excitement continues to grow as the 11th annual Oakland Running Festival prepares for its return to Snow Park and the Bay Bridge in only two weeks. The event has blossomed into The Town’s greatest day for runners of all ages and abilities and has raised more than $2 million for local charities since inception. All Oakland Running Festival activities will take place as planned this year.
Runner and public safety are always our top priority. During Corrigan Sports’ two decades of professional event management experience across the country, we have been fortunate to work with dedicated emergency management and public health officials during the planning and execution phases of large events such as the Oakland Running Festival.
We will take the lead from local, state and federal officials as we all monitor the latest developments with the coronavirus and respond accordingly with a coordinated effort and implement any additional plans and protocols for the expo and race day as warranted.
We are dedicated to providing the best and safest experience for our runners, volunteers, spectators and staff. Ultimately, your participation is a personal decision and we understand anyone’s uncertainty as our nation addresses this new challenge. We have extended our deferral deadline to Sunday, March 15 if you wish to elect this option. One can learn more about our deferral process by logging into their registration account: https://runsignup.com/Race/OaklandRunningFestival/Page-7
If we need to make any adjustments or if any conditions change, we shall communicate appropriate updates via our social media channels, website and e-mail.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Regards,
Lee Corrigan
