ELITE INFO & Awards

The Oakland Marathon presented by Kaiser Permanente provides a number of opportunities for competitive runners to compete and be eligible for overall and age group awards. Learn more about our Elite comp & discounted entry program below!

UNDER ARMOUR VELOCITI ELITE PROGRAM

All Elite athletes are encouraged to apply for the Under Armour Velociti Elite Team program, which provides a comp entry, gear, a prize purse and additional benefits for Marathoners & Half Marathon athletes. 

OAKLAND OPEN ELITE PROGRAM

In addition to the Under Armour Flow Elite program, the Oakland Marathon offers the following discounts based on verified personal bests within 18 months of race day (March 22,2026) that equal or surpass the following standards:

Complimentary Entry

  • Men: 2:35:00 or faster
  • Women: 3:00:00 or faster
  • Non-Binary+: 3:00:00 or faster

50% off Entry:

  • Men: 2:45:00 or faster
  • Women: 3:10:00 or faster 
  • Non-Binary+: 3:10:00 or faster

PA USATF GRAND PRIX EVENT PROGRAM

In addition to the Under Armour Flow Elite program, the Oakland Half Marathon is also a PA USATF Grand Prix event offering $2900 in total prize money. Award winners must be Pacific Association USATF Members and prize money is only awarded  to Pacific Association USATF Members. The below prize money allocation chart is for both USATF gender categories – Men & Women.

Team PA USATF Prize Money

  • Open: 1st Place – $250 / 2nd Place – $135 / 3rd Place – $50
  • Master: 1st Place – $135 / 2nd Place – $55 
  • Senior: 1st Place – $65
  • Super Senior: 1st Place – $35

Individual PA USATF Prize Money

  • Open: 1st Place – $250 / 2nd Place – $135 / 3rd Place – $50
  • Master: 1st Place – $135 / 2nd Place – $55 
  • Senior: 1st Place – $50
  • Super Senior: 1st Place – $25
  • Veteran: 1st Place – $25

OPEN ELITE PROGRAM

Awards are provided in three categories: Men, Women and Non-Binary+.

ELITE
Top 3 Overall Awards for each category in the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K & 5K will be announced at the main stage overlooking the Finish Line Festival.

  • Finishing time is based on GUN TIME for elite awards.
  • Elite winners are also eligible for their respective Masters and/or Age Group awards.
  • Winners must be present to pick up their awards.

Awards Schedule (subject to change):

  • 9:30AM – Half Marathon
  • 10:00AM – 5K & 10K
  • 10:30AM – Marathon

MASTERS
1st Place Masters (40+ years old) in each category in the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K & 5K will receive an award, picked up at the Awards Tent.

AGE GROUPS
Top 3 in each Age Group per category (Men, Women, Non-Binary+) in the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K & 5K will also be eligible to receive a unique gift at the Oakland Marathon Finish Line Festival. Age group divisions are as follows: 19 & Under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90+

  • Awards Tent will be at the Finish Line Festival. Specific location will be announced as we near Race Weekend.
  • IMPORTANT: Awards must be picked up on-site. Shipping awards gifts will incur shipping & handling costs by participant.
