The Oakland Running Festival is proud to announce two local running groups as the Official Training Groups for March’s event.
Lake Merritt Joggers and Striders will help you go the distance and have fun, whether you’re signing up for your first half marathon or your 15th marathon. You’ll discover new places to run long and enjoy the camaraderie of new running buddies who run at your pace. LMJS offers pace groups for most levels, RRCA-certified running coaches, experienced pace group leaders, training schedules, group speed workouts, training advice, course previews, and much more, for just $80 for LMJS members! (LMJS membership is $20) Marathon Training starts Nov. 20, with the first group run on Saturday, Nov. 25. Half Marathon Training starts on January 1, 2018 half, but marathoners are encouraged to join earlier for more fun and fitness. Stay motivated through the fall and winter – join now!
Plus! The Lake Merritt Joggers and Striders will lead in an official course preview training run! The first run is on January 13, 2018 starting at Rockridge BART (7 miles & 16 miles). The second preview run will be Sunday, March 4, 2018 starting at Eastshore Park (11 miles and 20 miles).
